Goodbye to NOLA

Today we continue on our journey.  We have had a fabulous time in New Orleans. We stayed in Fontainbleu State Park which is on the north shore of Lake Ponchartrain.  The surrounding towns of Madisonville, Covington, Abita Springs and Mandiville itself are filled with historic significance (my thing) and just beautiful.

What can I say about NO that hasn't been said.  It has something for everybody.  Yesterday was a perfect NOLA day - sunny skies, just a hint of breeze off the river.

We had brunch at the Courtyard of Two Sisters, enjoyed the street celebrations on Royal Street and throughout the French Quarter, strolled through the French Market, coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde before driving back across the 24 miles Lake Ponchartrain Causeway at sunset to our RV.

Fireworks last nite at home.  Hubby administered a long hard paddling with the leather paddle and then we danced our dance to put a perfect day to rest.

Great time - can't wait for our next adventure.
