Catching Up

Ray and I survived the weekend. The Grandparents lunch was great and the book fair didn't break the bank, although it took a little ding.   Unfortunately, the home team lost the homecoming game but it was a beautiful day to be out doors.  Our Saturday night turned out much differently than anticipated. Grandson #2 got a better offer for Saturday night, so we didn't have an overnight guest. The good news is that we were able to have a date night.  Sunday was another beautiful day and we took full advantage of it.

This is a really beautiful time of year.  I love the warm days and cool evenings.  Our plan is to make it to the beach a couple of times this week, just to sit and enjoy the view - too cold too swim, at least for me.  Having grown up on the Atlantic and Gulf side, the Pacific was a real surprise.  I believed all those surfer movies thinking the Pacific was so much warmer.  Surprise, Surprise. Speaking of that, Ray has wanted to try paddleboarding.and a couple of weeks ago there was a Groupon coupon, so I purchased and he is going to try it on Thursday or Friday.  He used to be one of those California Surfer Boys back in the day (complete with the blonde hair) but that's when he had his own knees.  Now he is going to try being a California Paddleboard Man (complete with silver blond hair) on titanium knees.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Monday was the book release date for Living the Dream and if any of you have been kind enough to purchase and read the book, I would appreciate any feedback.  It will help me to know what works and what doesn't.  If you want to purchase the book, just click on the book cover to the right and it will take you right to the LSF site.  Of course, it is also available on Amazon but when I clicked on to check, I found I should have researched the name before deciding on the title.  Thirty five pages of some form of Living the Dream can be daunting to nagivate. Anyway, where this is going is that Amazon is the middleman while LSF is direct and it is also available in all the different formats as well. If you are a techno like me, MOBI is the one to select for Kindle users.

That's it for now.  See you later of more Aimless Ramblings.

  5. Hi Sunnygirl -

Glad that you and Ray are enjoying yourselves out here. Yes, the Pacific can be pretty chilly, lol. Most of the surfers in my neck of the woods, including my son, own wetsuits. Makes it a bit more comfortable.

And paddleboarding is becoming so popular! I hope that Ray has a great time with it - and that you can just enjoy lots of sunshine on the beach. :)

    hugs,
    Cali

    1. Yes, when we lived here years ago, he used a wet suit to surf. The grands have them also.

Thanks for the good wishes, I will padd them on to Ray.

  6. Hi Sunny, :)

Congratulations on your new book!!! I am looking forward to reading it. I haven't had much reading time to date, but your first book is almost at the top of my cue! I'm looking forward to reading them both, as well as getting to know the other authors around the land better.

Looks like you've been having some fun out there! Book fairs will get ya every time! LOL on the better offer with your grandson. Glad you got a date night in! Many hugs,

    1. Thanks Katie. They are quick reads. I understand about time, when I worked, I switched to magazines instead of books because of the time factor.

We are enjoying the time with the grands. The better offer is going to be more and more of a reality, they are at that age, so we take what we can get.

      Thanks for the good wishes.

    1. Yes, when you have littles and are still in the work force, you don't want weekend to end.
I remember. Now that we are retired, one day is much like the next and I have to remember what day it is. Hope you have a good week ahead.
