It's a Date

Can't believe today is the first of June and guess what it finally stopped raining.  We had an intense storm Saturday morning.  By 4:00 there was this thing in the sky, large yellow ball and warm on my skin.  Dare I hope I wasn't dreaming.  Nope, the sun really is up there. Sunday was a beautiful day too.  Of course, it will be quite a while before all the puddles dissipate, the lakes go back to normal but it's sunny.  Yeah.  Hope you all had a good weekend.

BTW, I'm participating in the June A to Z blog hop challenge over on my other blog.  Why not pop over and see what's up?  You know there are practically no rules and you may want to do it yourself.

Now finally, here's this weeks story.

IT'S A DATE

When Andrea purchased her house, it was with the thought that she could sunbathe and swim nude, anytime she wanted, in her very own backyard. The house had a large fence, lots of dense foliage around that fence and no near neighbors. She loved how she looked with a tan and didn’t pay much attention to the warnings about skin cancer.  It was a chance she seemed willing to take; and being in the pool, sans bathing suit, well, it suited her just fine.  She hated the feel of a wet suit and removing said suit was even worse.

It was her habit to swim first for exercise, then a cool down float and then laying in the sun to drip dry.  When she would start to get too hot, she go back in the pool for another dip and then back to the sun – this time turning over to tan the backside of her body. She had done this every morning since purchasing the house.

Andrea Dawson had started her own business and had done very well.  She started small and lucked out when one of her first jobs as an editor was with Maxine Treadwell.  Maxine wrote “how to” books of all genre’s and sold millions of books.  After the first couple of books, Maxine suggested that Andrea start her own publishing company. She took the advice and now had a good number of writers using her services. Her business had grown every year so that last year she finally had saved enough money for a down payment on her dream house.

The house, in a quiet neighborhood, far from town, seemed ideal.  As long as she had a working computer, internet and a fax machine, she could work anywhere.  So when she purchased the house, she moved her business there.  She did it legally, getting all the necessary permits and licenses, she didn’t want any lawsuits popping up that could jeopardize any of her clients.

All went well, until one morning she awoke to the sound of heavy machinery.  She looked out her bedroom window to see an earth mover working in the area behind her house, supposedly a protected habitat. How could they be building in a protected habitat?  She immediately went on line and found that a permit had been issued to build a house with the proviso that the portion where whatever was being protected be left in tact. There was a lot of legalese but obviously someone had enough money to get what they wanted.  ‘Oh well, she thought, there would be noise during the construction process, but all should be the same after that.’

One day, coming out of the pool to lay on the lounge, she had a creepy feeling.  She felt as if someone had her in their sights.  She looked around and didn’t see anyone and attributed to the fact she wasn’t used to hearing noise at this time of day.  Her neighbors all worked and the kids were in school.  She wasn’t on the lounge long when she felt so uncomfortable, she decided to just go in.  The same thing happened the next day and she decided to call the police.  It couldn’t hurt to have them take a look around.

A few minutes later the doorbell rang and she went to the door.  She checked the peephole and asked the person to identify himself.  He pulled a police badge out and pushed it up to the peephole.  Still unsure, she yelled to wait a minute and then called the police department to see if they had sent someone.  She was given the name of the detective.

“Are you John Lambert?” She asked the person at the door.

“No, I’m Detective Jerry Markley.  I’m here about a call you made regarding a peeping tom.”

She opened the door to a man that made her drool.  About six feet of muscle with sandy hair and green eyes greeted her.

“Are you expecting a John Lambert?” he asked.

“No, I wasn’t sure you were for real so I called the department and they gave me your name.  I figured if I asked for Jerry Markley if you weren’t who you said you were you would agree.  By asking for another name, you gave me the right one.  A girl can’t be too careful these days.  I’m Andrea Dawson, by the way.”

“Nice to meet you Ms. Dawson.  You live here by yourself”?

“Please, call me Andrea.  Yes I do.”

“So what seems to be the problem, Andrea?”

She explained that yesterday when she was in her backyard she had a feeling as if someone was watching her and felt so uncomfortable she actually came inside.  She said she chalked it up to the noise of the construction behind her, but today she felt the same way.

“Maybe you could just take a look around.  I’d feel better if I knew I was imagining things.”  She laughed at this last remark but the detective’s demeanor didn’t change.

He went outside and took a thorough look around and came back and reported he didn’t find anything, no footprints in the wet earth or anything to suggest that anyone had invaded the perimeter.  He said he’d go to ask some questions over at the building site

Detective Markley talked with the construction supervisor and he said he hadn’t noticed anything but he would keep an eye out and call if anything came up. Markley went back to Andrea’s place and reported.

“Call me if you think of anything else?”

Andrea felt better about things.  She went out for a swim and a tanning session and didn’t feel spied on, so she figured it had to be in her head.  She went out again in the afternoon and still didn’t get that feeling of being watched.  However, the next morning the same thing.  The funny thing about it, she didn’t feel threatened.  Deciding to take matters in her own hands, she perused the property and didn’t see anything out of place. Walking back toward the lounge, the feeling got stronger.  Andrea had brought out her binoculars earlier to see a bird’s next she found.  She picked them up and scanned the area, as she panned over toward the construction site, the sun reflected off of something high up in the tree.  Focusing in the glasses, she was looking at a guy looking at her.  He got so flustered to be found out, he actually fell out of the tree.  She immediately went in and phoned Detective Markley and reported what she’d found.

About an hour later, Markley knocked at her door.  “You were right, you have been watched.  Apparently, you like to prance around nude and when the worker accidently spied you the first day, the other workers took turns up in the tree.  The guy you saw this morning fell out of the tree and broke his leg.  I don’t think you’ll have any more problems.  What you do on your own property is up to you, but a gal, living alone in this area, is asking for trouble.  You don’t know how many other people these guys may have told about the ‘nude lady.’  I’d cover up if I were you.”

“One of the reasons I bought this house was because of the seclusion.  I refuse to alter my plans because some idiots get their jollies by spying on me.  If they want to look, then let them.  Now that I know, I won’t be worried any longer.”

“Ms  Dawson.  You have every right to do as you wish.  Bear in mind however, there are those out there that would take advantage of a single lady living alone.  You are asking for trouble if you don’t mend your ways.”

“Aren’t you the big prude.”

“That’s my opinion as a law enforcement officer.  However, if I were your husband, boyfriend or brother I’d lay you across my knee and spank some sense into you.”

“You’re not, so good day Detective Markley and thank you for your time and advice,” as she walked him to the door.

                                   ******************************
Andrea Dawson came home from grocery shopping a couple of weeks later. She walked to the back door and found it unlocked.  She was positive she locked it, so she went back to her car and called the police.

Minutes later, two police cars and Detective Markley showed up.  The person who broke in couldn’t have been anymore than eighteen and apparently fell asleep on her sofa while waiting for her to come home.  He was the younger brother of one of the construction workers from next door.  The police finished taking her report, handcuffed and led the young man off to jail, Detective Markley stayed behind.

“Are you here to gloat?”

“I wouldn’t do that.  Actually, I planned on coming by to ask you to dinner, but it seemed awkward.  This morning’s call seemed like fate knocking at my door.  So Ms. Dawson would you like to go to dinner with me sometime?”

“Sometimes seems rather vague, would you care to pin down a date.”

“Is that a yes?”

“Yes, it’s a yes.  When?

They made a date for the following Saturday night.  She enjoyed his company and when he asked her again, she immediately said yes.  After they had dated for about a month, they came back to her place and decided to go for a midnight swim. He was already in the pool when she came out of the house.  Clad in only her birthday suit, he marveled as her body, curves in all the right places and tan all over.  That reminded him of how they met.

“You’re beautiful, you know.

“Thank you.”

“And that tan, are you still doing your usual routine of swimming and sunbathing nude?”

“Of course.”  He bided his time and when they got out of the pool, he led her to the lounge.  She expected him to make love to her but what she got was something totally different.  He took her on his lap, upended her and began laying down spanks on that beautifully tanned butt.  His only regret was that he couldn’t see how well he was doing, he only knew he was doing his job and following up on some advice she should have taken.

See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

  2. Our pool and distant neighbors lets me swim nude at night - but they aren't far enough away for a nice day time swim. Of course if there were a good looking cop that would object I could give it a try! Good story and good job on getting the sun back.

    2. When we lived in Florida, we always went clothing free, day or night. We planted some great foliage around the pool and arranged with the neighbor to yell before he approached the cage (most pools in FL are caged to prevent being eaten alive by bugs) . It worked.
