It Can't Be Friday Already

This is a big weekend for us, grandparent wise.  Today is a Grandparents Day Luncheon at the grand's school, then #1 grandson has a track meet at 5:00 which I'm quite sure will end in a family dinner afterward. Tomorrow is Homecoming Day at SIL's school, so football game in the afternoon.  We will have #2 grandson after that because our daughter and SIL will be chaperones at the Homecoming Dance and #1 has a sleepover.  There's a brunch on Sunday with everyone and then a barbecue in the evening.  By Sunday night Ray and I will be exhausted from all that fun.  Hope we have some energy left for some fun of our own.

Saw this picture yesterday and it says how I feel about my recent trip. We have very dear friends and he has been given an expiration date.  It's hard watching someone you love wither away.  Several times I caught myself and my friends with leaking eyes. We also laughed until we cried because you accumulate lots of memories over forty-five years.  Hopefully, Ray and I will get another chance to make some memories with them when we return at the end next month.  Don't want this to be about sadness but I loved the picture and thought it was beautiful.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.  There will be a new story up on Monday.  It's another chapter of The Look of Love story of Erica and Scott Carson.  Monday, my new book "Living the Dream" will be released and if I have time after posting this, I will find a snippet and make a scheduled post for Sunday.

Until then, see you later on Aimless Ramblings.

  3. I laughed at your title thinking it should be followed by, 'said no teacher ever!' Your weekend does extremely full, I will dedicate my Sunday afternoon nap to you.

I'm glad you get to visit with your friends, your memories may include tears, but they won't include regrets.

  13. You have a weekend chock full of opportunities to make wonderfully fun memories with the grands and family! Ray and Sunny time sounds like the perfect way to cap it off. ;-)

I love the poster - it's one of those poignantly beautiful things that touch the heart. I truly hope you can spend the time you want with your friend later this month. There is nothing good about an expiration date, but it's a bittersweet gift to have the opportunity to say proper farewells. Fill your cup with that warm friendship.

Just saying "Hugs" sounds a little trite, but sending you big, heartfelt ones anyway.

  14. Thanks everybody. In the interest of time, I am thanking you all at once. Great time today but I am heading off to bed now. Too tired for fun. What a stick in the mud I am.

I did post a little tease from "Living the Dream". It will be up on Sunday. Hope it spurs you on to purchase the book.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. I know I will.

    Hugs to all
