Rooted

We have finally arrived.  We have been sitting outside, the windows are open and the a/c is off, using a blanket on the bed and the socks have even been brought out and seeing green.  Okay, it's July in California so it's not as green as it is say in May, but it's greener than AZ.  Some people go for brown, I like green.  You know what else is great, I look out in the morning and I see the marine layer - you know what that means - the ocean is nearby.  YEAH.

The trip was pretty uneventful.  We only hit two traffic snags, one coming through the grapevine, and then again on north 101 right before we got to our destination. The scenery is beautiful coming up via I 5 and 101.  Well, once you get past the desert and LA. Just watching the landscape change mile by mile is pretty fascinating to me.  I am always wondering how people populated some of these remote areas way back when. Miles and miles of vineyards and other agricultural crops in field after field. Some of the crops were being harvested and others newly planted.  Lots of lettuce and kale and other than that I don't know, I'm a city girl.

We're staying in the same place we were last year.  It's very pretty, in a valley surrounded by large boulders and towering eucalyptus trees. God willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be here until sometime mid to late October.  When we come back for Christmas, we will either fly or just drive the car.  Gas is pricing us right out of this lifestyle.

The grandkids have grown in size and maturity.  No more little boys - just young men.  Wow, where does the time go.  Everyone is doing wonderful and have adopted well to their new geographic location. The grands miss their old friends because before they lived in a neighborhood where everybody knew everybody and their friends were either right next door or in the neighborhood.  Now they live in the country and things are spread out more so Daughter and SIL are always transporting them somewhere.

That's it for now.  Off to the Gilroy Garlic Festival.  Don't ask.  Stop by tomorrow for another new story.  Also, I have a treat for you on Wednesday.  There will be a new story posted but not written by me.  It's by Lucy Appleby and you might know her as flopsybunny.  She has her own blog and has authored many books.   Ronnie, over at Heart and Soul, recently posted one of her stories.

I am still begging for book reviews so if you get a minute, please drop by Amazon or LSF Publications  and write a review? Only if it's good, of course.  Thanks.  If you hurry you can be the first.  lol

See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

  1. I'm glad you got there safe and sound and that it's as beautiful as you remembered. Do you pull a car behind your RV? I'm guessing that's the way it's got to be for transportation once you arrive. Looking forward to Mon and Wed.
