We're Landlocked Again

We had a wonderful time in Galveston.  It is the first time either of us had been there.  It really reminded me of the Jersey shore back in the day.  It's very laid back and the water is like a tonic for hubby and I.  We miss it when we are away too long.  Luckily, we have California to look forward to in a couple of months. We really didn't do any sightseeing because we enjoyed the area so much we decided to spend a couple of months there next year. Plenty of time for sightseeing then.  The place is right on the water so I will be able to walk on the beach every day.  That's exercise I can do, no problem.

Back IRL things have been quiet - unfortunately. Haven't done very well with the weight loss contest, it seems to be sabotaged every week.  Every week I start out great and it goes to blazes on the weekend. Must do better. I guess I need more incentive than I have at this time.  Maybe I could get PK's Nick to give hubby some lessons, unfortunately though his weapon of choice seems to be the cane and I am allergic to that.  lol.

I want to let go of those extra pounds so I'm letting go.  Wish me luck.

That's it for now.  See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

  2. I really glad you had such a good trip! But I'm really sorry for the problems losing. You're a real friend and I do want to help so I think I'll send the cane along with a letter of instruction from Nick for your hubby. I'm allergic to the cane too, but Nick feel regular exposure to it helps the weigh loss and I'm more than willing to share!

    Hugs,
    PK

    1. Oh, thank you so much for your kind thoughts and actions. You're so sweet but I wouldn't want to deprive you of your "trusted" friend.

  3. Oh sunny your adventures sound wonderful, I would love to travel around like you and see so much :)

Sorry you're having trouble losing weight, but I also don't really like the sound of those instructions, the thought of a cane would have me do pretty much anything lol

Good luck with the weight loss x

    1. Yes, I grew up the same way and I've never gotten over it. When we're away from it for any length of time I start to get "antsy".

  6. Sounds so nice to be by the water like that. If you walk bare foot on the beach it helps 'ground' you! That is a real health benefit. I can even give you a link!

Well I didn't do well this week for sure. I can eat perfectly and still gain weight. If my guy wanted to help....I would never want the cane either! Yikes-I would RUN away!

  7. Hi Sunny, :)

Your trip to Galveston sounded lovely. Sometimes the best trips are those that are laid back, not seeing sights really but just spending time together doing regular things in a new place! Good for you! :)

Good luck with the weight loss! You can do it! I agree- no evil canes allowed. I don't even like evil spatulas. Want one? I think that Minelle is on to something! There is nothing like walking barefoot along the beach, holding hands with your HoH! Hugs!

    1. The beach always relaxes us.

I don't think we need any implements but thanks anyway.

Maybe if I from here to Galveston, I'd make this week's weigh in.

    1. Yes, I can understand about the song. It ran though my head a lot too.

Thanks for the kind offer of the cane, but I think I'll pass. lol

  9. Walking on the beach sounds wonderful! Glad you had a great time.
Weekends are always the worst for weight loss. That's why you stay "good" through the week, so on the weekends you can have fun!
Weight, schmeight! It'll either be there or it won't. No biggy, right?

    1. I like that weight, schmeight. Unfortunately that's how I got the 'weight' I either have to eat wiser or exercise more. It's that latter, that's the hang-up. lol

  10. Galveston! I have always wanted to go there. An old friend use to call me (my real name) from Galveston because it rhymed (sorta). I love walking on the beach. When I was younger, much younger, I use to jog on the beach to keep in shape for ski season. My thighs have always been strong. Lol
I am so looking forward to you coming to California. There is so much to do here, besides us all going naked. I hope you get to enjoy all of the sites.
Punishment for weight loss hasn't worked for me, being the spanko that I am. But pictures of bikinis on the fridge sometimes helps

    1. I love walking on the beach too. Did a lot of it growing up at the Jersey Shore and then when I moved to California. I'm looking forward to the summer too and will definitely be in touch.

I would put a picture of me on the fridge too but I'm afraid it might cause heart failure. It's not only the weight but the gravity that has occurred since I last wore a bikini.

  11. sounds like a beautiful place to visit. I love the water and the ocean and walking barefoot on the beach. I actually have a post about it waiting for me to finish. I am trying to eat healthier and exercise more. I am doing a two week diet (more of a cleanse) to rebalance the sugar in my system...so no sugar of any kind (even some of the more naturally sweet fruit and vegetables are limited)So far so good...and the benefit will be I will probably lose a few pounds...and hopefully crave sugar and sweets less... Good luck - you can do it! And don't let PK send you a cane, whatever you do! :-)

    1. It is beautiful. Very different than the NE coast, but it's the water that lulls me.

I've thought about doing a cleanse, but so far that's as far as it has gone.

Trust if PK sends e a cane it is being returned unopened.
