Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo
commemorates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War ...

Cinco de Mayo is a big fiesta day here in Texas.  Know it was always fun in California too.  Ellen de Generes says its cinco meaning five and de mayo meaning more tequilla, LOL. Don't know if anyone has a fiesta in celebration of the day but growing up Cinco de Mayo was always a big thing in our house but not for the obvious reason.  It is my baby brother's birthday.  We'll be together today and on our way to Galveston.  Celebration tonite.  Lots of margueritas.  Yeah, fun in the sun and sand along with tequilla and two handsome men. What more could a girl ask?

Hope you are enjoying a great weekend too.  Another new story up tomorrow.  I'll be back on Thursday,  see you then for more Aimless Ramblings.

  7. I've never heard of it, but it sounds a great reason to have a fiesta! We have a holiday here too, on Monday. It's called Bank Holiday Monday, (now renamed Spank Holiday Monday!). I hope you have a lovely time with your family, and that your brother enjoys his birthday!

    Hugs

  8. And May 5 is the Dutch "Liberation day", the day that the Netherlands became free again, after 5 years of occupation by Nazi-Germany.
Thanks to a lot of Canadian, UK, US and many other nationalities soldiers.

  15. Hi Sunny, glad to hear that you are having a good time. I just adore Galveston! If you are still there and have the time, two good things to visit are the off shore drilling platform museum down by the Alyssa and a cool WWII submarine tour.

    Have blessed day
