How Does He Do It?

Hubby wanted breakfast, a rarity, so we actually had breakfast together.  Good Start.

Sometime during breakfast I had one of my mood swings and he said something that didn't set right.  Naturally, I started building that defensive wall.  You know the one.

Usually if I fix breakfast, or lunch, or dinner, he will do the clean up. The last few days he has remained absent during the clean up, this morning was the same thing.  Next layer to the wall.

After I finished cleaning up while he sat outside with his cigar,  we went to the storage unit to put some things in and take some things out.  This is not as easy as it sounds because it is still not fully organized.  He starts bossing me around and acting way too dictatorial.  Naturally, that earned him the finger.  YUP that finger.  Another layer to the wall, by now I can barely see over the top.

We stop to get the car washed and head back home.  He stays outside and I go inside.  Not many words have passed my lips.  Saying nothing was defnitely going to be better than saying something at this point.

Shortly thereafter he comes in,  plops down on the couch across from me and tells me how cute I am and how much he loves me.  I'm trying like hell to keep that wall up but guess what.  He reaches over and caresses my leg and gives me that little boy smile and voila.    He  looks so damn cute with his silver/blond hair all askew and a two day growth of beard that I can't help myself.  The wall comes tumbling down.

Now if we can just get through the next couple of hours without tweaking each other there will be fireworks later.  If not, there probably will still be fireworks, but of a different variety.

Fingers are crossed.

See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

  2. I wish you the very best of luck! We are all expert wall builders. Funny how they can help us build them and then turn around and be the catalyst in causing them to tumble. And most of the time I don't think they know that they're doing either.

    1. I do agree with you. Men are so different in their reactions and thoughts that I don't think they have a clue as to what goes on with us. But then, sometimes I don't have a clue either. LOL

    1. I am sure you can see, I imagine you would be able to do the same. Fireworks have been better - always room for improvement. Shooting for the stars can be daunting.

    1. Oh yeah. It always does. For better or worse we dont do discipline so I have plenty of latitude.

    1. I know. They can be sooo cute can't they. His blue eyes crinkle and he gets that cute little grin and after 40+ years I still get all goopy.
