The Drought Continues

After reading PK's post yesterday, I realized I have been a neglectful blogger.  There's nothing to report on the OTK front, but I thought I'd catch you up-to-date on the home front.  I am enjoying being in more space.  For the most part, everything is put away, whether or not I will be able to find something two weeks from now remains to be seen.

There are a few items I need to replace and my friend and I have been scouring the Gently Used shops.  Here, because it's basically a retirement area, there are many from which to choose and some great finds to be had.  I've found several good buys already - even Ray was impressed, and I didn't get a lecture about spending 'too' much.  He's coming with me today - not sure if that's a good idea or not, but I'm in search of a computer/writer's desk and since he'll be using it too, should get his input.

I'm a card player and for the past several years I've been playing in the area in which I now live.  It was nice to walk into the Rec Center last Friday and be greeted and welcomed back by friendly faces. Thanks to new friends, I'm back to walking in the morning.  It's good because I've been a real slacker for the past month or so. On today's walk, I even opened up about being a writer of books of our genre.  No big gasps of surprise - no questions either.  So who knows?

I've collected these lately from FB and don't know if you've seen them or not, but I thought I'd pass them along.  Our good friend, Cat, has some great stuff, and I don't know if I got these from her or not, but hope you like.

Enough for now, see you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

The City Dwellers

Hola everyone - it's the 11th month of this year which means the year is kicked in the butt. From now until the new year it's run run run.

We are almost settled here. Well, we're unpacked.  There are still things I want to buy to make this place ours, but it's getting there.   I woke up the other morning and forgot where I was and then remembered.  It's a good feeling.  Ray and I have been on each other's nerves for the past ten days - I think it's the stress of everything.  I wish he'd take advantage of the situation, but so far nada.  Not even on my birthday, now that's almost unforgivable and criminal.  Don't you agree?

I did manage to set aside some time to write this story.  It's not the greatest but it's free.

The City Dwellers

Billy and Karen lived in an apartment in the city since they were married. They were city dwellers who enjoyed the benefits of city living. They frequented the many restaurants and clubs, museums and concerts available to them. Karen was not the Harriet Housewife type, her career took precedence and she liked the idea of having a small space to keep clean. Billy was not a putterer and loved not having demands made on him to fix things. The only puttering he liked to do was on the golf course.

Both had successful careers and their tax accountant kept reminding them they should be investing their monthly rent into real estate. Finally, came a year when their bill to Uncle Sam was what they considered way too much. Their first thought was to purchase a condominium in the city.  They began their search and were put off not only by the high prices but the monthly assessment fee on top of the mortgage payment.  Eventually, they succumbed to the lure of the suburbs like thousands of other young couples had done before them. Many of their friends had already taken the plunge and they all had suggested it was the best thing they had ever done.

So, for the next four months, their weekends were taken up with house hunting.  Every Saturday and Sunday, their real estate agent would pick them up and take them further and further afield. They tramped through dozens of properties, both new and old and one of them found fault with every single one of them.  They were both frustrated and it was taking a toll on their marriage.

“Karen, I’m playing golf this weekend.  I don’t care if the Taj Mahal is available for purchase.  Enough.”  Billy told Karen when she committed them to yet another drive to the suburbs to look at a house.

“But Billy, this house sounds perfect.  It is close enough to the city for us to still enjoy the things we love, but we would benefit from the tax write-off.  It’s a steal and if we don’t jump on it, someone else will.” Karen whined.

“Karen, I  don’t  care.  Now drop it.  Plan something for yourself this weekend, go get a massage, go shopping, lunch with friends, anything you want.  Don’t plan on me. I’m playing golf.”

“But Billy.”

“Karen, I told you I don’t want to hear anymore.  One more word and I’m taking you over my knee.  It’s been a long while since I’ve spanked you and unless you want a sore bottom, I suggest you move on.”

“You know this house hunting thing wasn’t just my idea.  You agreed to it too.”

“Karen, what did I just say?” He took her by the hand and led her over to the couch.  He wasted no time in placing her over his knee and began assaulting her behind with spank after spank.  Deciding she wasn’t getting the full effect of the spanking over jeans, he stopped long enough to undo the zipper and slid them and her panties down to her knees..  Karen was fighting like a tiger but Billy would not be deterred and brought her back down over his lap. He was taking all of his frustrations out on Karen’s behind and was enjoying every minute of her discomfort.  When his hand began to sting, he removed his slipper and continued spanking his wife until she was a sobbing mess.  When Karen was sure her ass was on fire and it was only a matter of time before the fire department arrived, Billy threw down the slipper.

The hand that has just wielded the slipper like a crazed man, now caressed and massaged her blistered behind.  When her sobs subsided, he stood her up and led her to the bedroom.  He told her to take a nap.

“I don’t want to take a nap.”

“Karen, it’s not about what you want.  Now unless you want to go back over my knee, lay down and take a nap.”

“But Billy.”

He swatted her reddened bottom several times, rekindling the fire.  “Ouch, stop, stop.”

“I will as soon as you get into bed.”  Karen headed toward the bed and Billy tucked her in and kissed the top of her head.  He laid down next to her, and ran his fingers through her hair and scalp until she finally gave in and let sleep overtake her.

He went out and called the realtor and asked about the details of the house.  Karen was right, it did sound perfect.  He arranged for them to see the house on Thursday night instead of the weekend.  He would keep it as a surprise for Karen.

When Karen awoke, she rolled over and winced.  She was reminded of the spanking Billy had delivered.  An occasional hard swat now and then but she hadn’t been spanked hard in a long time. Of course, he was always patting her bottom and their bedroom play often included spankings, but those were fun. The one she had today wasn’t fun, he meant it. She put her hand back and rubbed her bottom.  She rose and went to the mirror to check and although her bottom was sore there weren’t any bruises.

Billy heard her and came into the bedroom.  He took her in his arms. She cuddled into him and soon they were kissing and touching and heading back to the bed for some adult playtime.

On Thursday, Billy called Karen and said he would pick her up at work at 5:30.

“Why?” Karen asked.

“It’s a surprise.”

“I love surprises.”

When Billy picked her up, he handed her a gift bag.  She opened it and pulled out a blindfold. She had a puzzled look but he told her to put it on – it would enhance the
suspense. Karen donned the blindfold and sat back and relaxed.

Unfortunately, they were immersed in traffic and the trip took longer than Billy anticipated. Karen was getting antsy and started peppering him with questions.  He had to be very careful not to reveal too much information.  He started telling her about one of his cases to keep her occupied.

When they finally reached the house, he saw the realtor waiting for them.  He wouldn’t let Karen remove the mask until he came around the car.  He released the blindfold and at first she was perplexed.  Then she saw the realtor and her eyes widened when she looked at the house.

“Oh Billy.” She grabbed his hand and squeezed.  “You were listening.”

They toured the house and it hit all of their expectations.  Karen immediately wanted to make an offer but Billy said he wanted to take some time to think it over.  Karen had a temper tantrum and began scolding Billy in front of the realtor.  When her voice had reached proportions that could be heard in the next county, Billy pulled her aside and swatted her backside. Karen heard the realtor snicker and she turned and kicked Billy in the shins.

“That’s it.  I’m not putting up with this.”  He excused them and took Karen out to the car where he proceeded to wallop her backside.

“How dare you? “ Karen wailed.  “Everybody can see.”

“Well, if we decide to buy this house, it will be a great conversation starter when we meet our new neighbors.”

“If you think we’re going to buy this house after this, you have another guess coming.  I never want to see it or that realtor again.”

“We’ll see,” he told her.  “Now straighten up and go inside and say good bye to Ellen and apologize for your rant.”

“Not going to happen.”

“I think you’re wrong about that.”  With that, he yanked her out of the car and threw her over his shoulders and trucked back to the house.

They had drawn quite a crowd and as they walked up the path to the house, they heard applause.  Karen looked up from her position over Billy’s shoulder.  She was mortified and began pummeling Billy’s back and yelling at him to put her down.  The applause grew louder as Billy landed some well-aimed spanks on Karen’s bottom.

“Well, I never.” Billy heard one of the neighbors say.

“Never say never” Billy called back.

This week should see the release of Rocky Mountain Christmas.  It's two stories I think you will enjoy.

See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

HUSBAND MEME and NEW RELEASE

Good Morning Everyone - I planned on posting Elle's Husband memo today and awoke to find out Rocky Mountain Christmas is now available.  This is a little late coming up because I've been busy catching up to get out the word. Now that you have heard, feel free to click that link.  (ha ha)

But here we go:

1. Favorite Movie of  Ray's.  Do I like it?  Rio Bravo is the one he came up with.  Surprised me because he loves the Fast & Furious Series, The Expendables, James Bond - the list goes on.  I watch it with him.

2. Tell us something you cook or bake that gets him so happy. Do you add something special that makes your recipe unique?  Split Pea Soup.  It's special because I make it just for him, I don't like it.

3. What does he wear to bed?  His birthday suit.

4. Does he have or has he ever grown a beard of mustache?  Did I/Did I not like it?
He is clean shaven now.  He has had both a beard and mustache at different times.  I used to like it, not so much anymore.

5. If they were going to make a movie of your husband, what actor would I pick to play him?
Robert Redford.  I know, seriously though.  Ray is blond, blue eyed and he has that little mole on his face. If I could post this picture I have, you would think so to. He's taller though and now not as slim.

6.Who is neater around the house, your or him?  Give us a sloppy example.
Without a doubt him.  I tease him that he is OCD.  I leave a trail behind me wherever I go.

7.If you could buy him tickets to any concert, what musician or group would be singing or playing?  He has already been to many of his favorites, but I think Fleetwood Mac or Andrea Bocelli now.

8. Does he wear a wedding ring?  Do you care?  Sometimes he wears his ring, just as sometimes I wear mine.  No, I don't care.  We both know we're married and that's all that counts.

9. How old was he and how old were you on the day you met.  What else do you remember about that day? He was 27, I was 25.  I remember we didn't like each other.

10.  If he is the one to choose an ethnic restaurant for dinner out, what would it be?  It would be a toss up between Mexican or Italian.

11. Is there a photo of him as a child that you find especially endearing?  Tell us about it.
Yes, he's about 3 or 4 years old.  He just looks so dang cute in his cowboy hat and boots.  (Wow, my fascination knows no bounds.)

12. If you were going to choose a dress in a color just to please him what color would it be?
Turquoise.  I seldom wear dresses, however.

13. Did I love his mother?  I liked her, not sure about love.  She lived 3,000 miles away so I didn't come in contact with her that often.  She was a good person.

14. Name a famous person he really admires/admired.  John Wayne

15. How does your husband take his coffee or tea?  Black

15. Does your man know how to dance?  Is it something you both enjoy?  Yes, and we still enjoy although we don't do it nearly often enough anymore.
