AGE & NUMBERS

A couple of days ago I passed the six month mark of my brithday.  Since about thirty-five I've always used this halfway point to start convincing myself I am already into the next year.  This year, it's harder because I'm reaching the next decade.  I keep telling myself age is only a number and I really do believe that most of the time.  My mind says I'm still 35, even though my body is starting to remind me otherwise; that and a look in the mirror.

Anyway, I saw this on that halfway date and it made me smile. I hope I never ACT my age

And the next day, this appeared so I think the universe is telling me something.

See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

  3. Very true. What wise quote ...
Sunny, age is just a number .. but I understand exactly what you mean.
Since I have been 50 years old, my body begins to show behavior that I do not recognize or like..lol.. lol ..

    1. Yeah, I joke that what hurts today won't feel so bad tomorrow but something else will take it's place. lol

  4. Love both of these pictures, especially the second. Definitely my view. Zero numbers alway catch us by surprise. But we did get to meet, walk around together and talk at length, trust me you seem closer to 35 than the other number.

  5. It is just a number...and with a 'Sunny' outlook who does care what others think? You are only getting better.

  8. Oh how I would love to not care what anyone (except hubby) thought. It sounds blissful and so very much easier said than done. Maybe one day. :)

    1. And you're right it is easier said than done because we have been programmed from very early on to please others (but we should come first).

    1. I know, I never understood the saying that "youth was wasted on the young" when I was young. I sure do now.

  10. Hi Sunny,

Don't you miss the days when you were excited that a birthday was fast approaching? I am in count down mode, as my birthday is rapidly approaching.. It's not a milestone birthday but another one pushing me towards a milestone.. Sigh. I am working on the belief that women are like fine wines, we only get better and more full bodied with age. So hopefully I will be happy that.. Oh forget it, I may as well just open the dang bottle of wine and enjoy it instead. :0) Loved your pictures, very cute.

    1. Yes, I remember I couldn't wait til I was 13, then 16, then 18 and 21. I think I stopped at 25. I'll definitely go along with the full bodied with age. lol ]

Exactly, why wait for tomorrow when you can enjoy it today.

  11. You always feel younger inside though don't you, sometimes looking in the mirror is a shock!

I never like to look in the mirror first thing in the morning, it's scary.

    1. Twenty-six, OMG. I hardly remember that far back Enjoy your youth, don't be anxious to turn 30. It's a slippery downhill slope and it steam rolls.

  13. These are both SO true. If only we could have that wisdom in our 20's. I'm going to be a grandmother soon and I keep telling myself it's okay because I have a 6 yr old. LOL

    1. I know Betsy, I feel the same way about the wisdom. Wow, a soon to be grandmother and a six year old - I'm not sure I woud do very well with that - have to give you my greatest admiration. I don't think I would have the energy - as evidenced by trying to keep up with my grands. ")

  14. Yes - sliding into a new decade is a bit of a bummer - I did that last year - at Disneyland, lol. But I totally agree with you. We do NOT have to become old! And I really really loved that last quote you put up! So true!

  15. The first one is my favorite. I've been out of touch with my age for a long time, just trotting along through life doing what needs to get done. But now when I think about that number it's just shocking.
