Ha ha how true! One of my friends decided to play it up, and wrote her last 'Will and Testament' How many times have predictions been made about the end of the world? You would think people would stop freaking after the hundredth failed prediction.
I'm much too busy for unimportant things like the end of the world. Let the chief Maya call me and let's see if I can squeeze it in somewhere next year. Ah, those poor New Zealanders missed the fun. It's already Saturday December 22.
I think the Mayans got bored with their calendar and just stopped filling it in, or a group of Mayan scientists decided to play a crazy prank on the future world inhabitants.
Either way, I'm glad we're all still here. I can say, gratefully, that I'll enter our new old world tomorrow, safe and secure with my family, friends and my blogland family of friends. We are the lucky ones. The world as they knew it ended for so many families recently, when their littles were taken away.

Who knows about the Mayans. I've heard it was just the end of a 26,000 year cycle and it just begins again. Kind of like chasing your tail, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we're' still here too and my heart hurts for those families who are spending this year w/o their loved ones close by.
Yep, still here too :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, the last I heard, the story has been changed to not the end of the world, but more the end of some 'phase'?
Hugs
Roz
Yeah, tht's what I heard too. That it was just the end of a cycle and then it begins again. Kind of like New Year.
