We're in Monterey County, on the El Camino Real, settled in a valley among tons of awesome rock formations, giant boulders, eucalyptus trees and blue skies. Breathtaking.
Daughter, Son in Law and grandkids are fantastic and it will be the longest stretch of time we have spent together since she went away to college umpteen years ago. Looking forward to great times visiting old haunts and creating new memories. Tomorrow is grandson's football game and Friday is SIL's schools homecoming football game and Saturday, other grandsons soccer game and so it goes.
Weather is perfect, warm sunny days and cool mornings and evenings. Daughter lives in an area that is fraught with apple orchards. The sweet scent of apples, the acrid smell of a wood burning fire and the skittering of fallen leaves tells me that fall is definitely here and I am loving every minute of it.
We have been pretty vanilla lately, just a few little spankings here and there. We've played the dice game a couple of times - that's fun. My birthday is coming up so I know there will be lots of fireworks then.
Along with the pretty new colors on my blog I have added a new gadget. With Hermione's help my fiction is now in its own place. I have been writing pretty regularly and getting some nice feedback so for a while I will post a new story every Monday. When the well dries up I'll do something else but I think I'm good until the end of the year anyway.
The internet is working fine. No television though (not that I miss it - did get to watch my Denver Broncos finally come out of the fog Monday night ) and can only text in the RV. Phone conversations are relegated to the outdoors. It's almost like the dark ages. Other than that can't think of anything else right now.
See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.
I really enjoyed reading your post and all that is going on in your life. I spent my Honeymoon in Northern California. Enjoy your time with your family and your travels! I will look forward to seeing you stories, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks S. Plan on doing just that.
DeleteSounds absolutely wonderful. Spending time with your family is perfect. It will make the kids so happy when you go to their games. I am not really a great sports person but kids don't seem to care as long as you are there.
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting up a new story every Monday, now I have something to look forward to after the weekend!
We are enjoying our time. #1 grandson caught a great pass today.
DeleteAs long as my imagination holds out there will be a story.
Will look forward to a new story each week. Have a great time with your family sunnygirl.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cat
Now that I have made that commitment I hope I don't develop "writers block" or my imagination dries up.
DeleteSounds like you will have lots to keep you busy and happy..enjoy. Thanks for giving Mondays' a boost!!!
ReplyDeletehugs abby
We have been so busy so far. Hope I don't disappoint on Monday.
DeleteSounds like a beautiful place. Enjoy family time.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your Monday stories and I love your new colours.
Love,
Ronnie
xx
It is gorgeous.
DeleteThanks Ronnie.
I like that you've got a nice blend of some kink - with the dice game, and family. Grand-parenting sounds like so much fun. You can get all the fun of the kids and not the responsibility of raising them. You all keep enjoying yourselves!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
PK
It is pretty fun. We plan on enjoying our time.
DeleteEnjoy the time with the grands, they will love having you at their events! Thanks for giving us something to brighten up our Mondays!

DeleteI love the grands and they are the best. Of course, I am not the least bit prejudice.
DeleteEnjoying your family is so important, and wow, that scenery must be fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a Monday fiction feature from you, and glad I could be of help in showcasing your stories.
Hugs,
Hermione
The scenery and family are gifts from God and I am so very grateful for both.
DeleteThanks for your kinds thoughts and your help. Couldn't have done it without you.
Ooh, that's a beautiful drive and area. Lots of things to see and places to go for nice hikes. If you haven't been, you MUST take some grandkids and go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It's the best. Enjoy your family Sunnygirl.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of Monday fiction too!
It is a beautiful part of the country. But then, this whole country is filled with such beauty - whether it be sea, desert, fields of green. Listen to me waxing poetic.
DeleteWe plan on taking the grands to the Aquarium. We were there just after it opened and haven't been back since. That was before they were born. OMG, time flies.
Love being with the kids. They are a kick.
Sounds nice! Hope you have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your good wishes Ana. We plan on making the best of it.
DeleteSounds beautiful! Enjoy all that time with your family:)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful.
DeleteIf you want some more info on any places, email me. I will be happy to give you some more places, etc.
Enjoy those Grandkids :D :D
ReplyDeleteIt sounds lovely in that area, and you will be able to write and post stories for all of us. :)
Take care, Sunny :)
Oh, we are enjoying the heck out of them. It is a beautiful area.
DeleteLooks like a gorgeous area! Enjoy the time with your family! If your Internet is working, you can watch every new episode of TV shows on the 'net by going to free-tv-video-online.me Click on TV Shows at the top, then voila!
ReplyDeleteDon't download anything - always choose the "watch as free user" or just hit the play button. Because its a free site, you do have to close all the pop ups that open with it, but its worth it! Hope it works for you!
It is beautiful just as there are some breathtaking places in Canada - Lake Louise comes to mind.
DeleteThanks for the tip about the free TV. I briefly looked it up tonite and it looks promising.
it looks gorgeous!! hope you have a great time with the family.
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous and we plan on making great memories for all of us.
DeleteYes! That is an amazing view. Wistful sigh... I hope you have a wonderful Autumn with your family.
ReplyDeleteWe're driving through the midwest today, barely hilly, but the Fall colors on the trees are gorgeous.
I had to laugh about your tech challenges - go here to use this but not that, go there to use that but not this, go elsewhere to use the other, hop on one foot while pointing to the sky and singing. Lol! ;-)
I'm putting Sunny Monday Story Telling on my calender. Thank you!
Irishey
I love hearing from you Irishey. Your writing is always so encouraging. My hubby and I laughed out loud at your comment about the tech challenges.
DeleteBe safe driving through the midwest. Yes, the colors can be fantastic this time of year. Mother Nature outdoes herself with God's pallette.
Let us hear from you when you can.
sounds like a wonderful time... :-)
ReplyDeleteTerps, we will make it wonderful. Nice to see you back, haven't heard from you in a while.
DeleteI am so glad you are enjoying your time with your family and appreciate that you are finding the time to keep in touch.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy.
Thanks, we are having fun.
