MEME

Here is the promised meme - thanks to all who have posted this before.

WHO IS THE OLDEST?  Ray, at times it is almost two years between us and I never let him forget it.

WHO WAS INTERESTED FIRST?  The first time we met, I didn't like him at all.

WORSE TEMPER?  Definitely him.  He has a short fuse.  I simmer for a bit and it takes awhile, but then...

MORE STUBBORN?  I think it's a toss up.  We're both pretty headstrong.

WAKES UP FIRST? Him, always.

WHO COOKS THE MOST?  I cook - he grills.

CRIES?  Definitely me.  I'm a weeper.

SAID I LOVE YOU FIRST?  Don't remember.  It has been a very long time and I barely remember yesterday.

BETTER SINGER?  Definitely him - when I sing animals howl.

BETTER DRIVER?  I think I am - he thinks he is.  Go figure.

HOGS THE REMOTE?  It's actually an extension of Ray's arm.  I've actually watched him start to panic if it gets too far away.  (hahah)

BETTER COOK?  Me - he's a good hamburger helper guy.

CLOTHES AND SHOE HOARDER?  He would say me, but I'm not a hoarder, I'm a collector.  I like  choices.

See  you later, probably much later, for Aimless Ramblings.

Dropping By

Hello

Visiting some of fav's yesterday, my last post on July 13th popped out.  That was the last time I posted.  OMG it hasn't seemed that long.  Time has just whizzed by and the summer along with it.  It has been busy and hot, hot, hot (weather wise, that is).

Ray's birthday party was great fun and it was really a whole birthday weekend.  My brother and his SO and our daughter made it very special.  We ate and drank way too much - made getting older a little more palatable - for Ray anyway.  August arrived with a big anniversary for us and hubby surprised me with a weekend at one of the iconic hotels here in AZ.

This weekend our grandson heads off to college.  He is so excited while our daughter is teary.  I do remember when she went off, hell I remember when I went off.  Things are never the same once they go off on their own for a while even when they do come home.  My youngest grandson starts high school on Monday and he is a little trepidatious. He will be attending the school where his father is the principal and it didn't work out too well for his brother.  We shall see.   He has decided to give up soccer and play football. Scary for his mom and I - father and grandfather are fine.  He is fast and will play running back.  You know the hits those guys take and G is tall and wiry - strong but there is not a lot of meat on his bones.  Keeping fingers crossed.

Did something we haven't done since we moved here.  It's too hot to do any outdoor activities so we decided to check out the casino while daughter was here.  It's only five minutes from home.  We all signed up for the fan appreciation card giving you at least ten dollars of free play.  Well, E scored big - she got 1,000 free play and went home with most of it still in her pocket.  Needless to say, she was excited and planned a back to school shopping spree.  She too will be a school principal this year.

Not one word has been put to paper since I stopped blogging. Not sure when or even if I will get back to stories and books.  Once in a while, I get an idea but that's as far as it goes.  I think I 'worded' out at least for the immediate future.

That's it for today.  I'm going to do that meme everyone has posted.  It will be up on Friday.

See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

I'm Still Here

Just dropping by to say hello.

Monsoon season is here - yeah and nay.  We did get rain - the first storm was a doozy with winds at 60 mph, swirling dust and downed trees and power lines.  We escaped.  The second night it was a lovely rain, with thunder and lightning. we don't get much rain or electrical storms here so they are always a treat.  I think the best ones ever were in Colorado - even better than the ones over the water, maybe because the air is thinner.  Anyway don't know the reason but...

The temps finally dropped but now the humidity is up so even though it's cooler, it's still not comfortable. It's an exciting weather season here in Arizona - Monsoons are joined by haboobs.  Haboob, you say you've never heard of it - it's a humungous dust storm - sometimes so bad that you can't even see your hand in front of your face.  Clean up stinks.

Checkout caption on pic. Can you imagine this wall of dust coming at you?.

Had a lovely visit with my niece and her family last week.  We met in Tempe for dinner at a place called Culinary Dropout.  Had to google it to find out what I was getting us into.  It's a huge place, not too far off ASU's campus, and just the kind of place young people love.

No visit to Tempe is complete without a stop at IKEA for the meatballs and the pillows I love. I always stock up on both.  It's funny the pillows are cheap, and I do mean cheap, but they are the best. Ray recently convinced me to get one of these My Pillows - $50.00.  I listened and I absolutely hate it. Give me my IKEA pillow every time.

Have a busy week coming up.  I think I've mentioned that Ray is having one of those milestone birthdays and we've invited friends and family to join in celebration.  He always had the notion that he wasn't going to live past 62 - well he's done that and more.  Yeah!!!

Enough for now.  See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.
